Founding member, Thomas Petersen, reestablishes his
position as President of the Knights of York. With a revived motivation, the
non-profit organization and its new members discuss their continuing efforts to
help children in need.
July 24, 2008- At the annual meeting, The Knights of York
formed a new executive board re-establishing Thomas Petersen as President and
Peter Raimondi as Vice President.
Former president, Domenic Ferrante now holds position of Secretary. “The creation of the new Executive
Board as well as the tactical way we are aligning ourselves with our
beneficiaries will bring about an exciting way of achieving our mission of
helping children in need,” Domenic stated. Founded in 1996, the Knights of York is a non-profit
organization that is comprised of an amalgamation of business leaders from many
different industries and backgrounds.
Peter Raimondi, Vice President stated, "As a founding member, I am
reenergized to strengthen the organization and bring fresh ideas to the
organization. We are a group of
people with a passion for life, a dedication to children, and a motivation when
asked to help.”
The Knights look forward to venturing forward with a strong hope of improving networking capacity and producing more large-scale events that will yield increased support for respective charities. Among the many charities supported by the Knights of York are New York Child Learning Institute, The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, and the Phoenix Center. Christy O’Keefe, the associate director of development at Montefiore was very proud to continue their relationship with The Knights stating “For more than a decade, the Knights of York have been the very best of friends to our youngest patients, providing significant capital to CHAM, supporting the Child Life Program that helps children and teenagers adjust to being hospitalized and playing Santa with joy – including giving our pediatric patients gifts every Christmas. We look forward to working with Thomas Petersen, Peter Raimondi and all of the Knights.” The Knights of York will be moving at a quick pace to implement new plans and are looking forward to upcoming events, such as Cigar Night, in November.
In addition to the new executive board, new members are also being added to ensure balanced and effective achievements in fighting against child related maladies and helping children. "Its an honor to continue with the fine work and efforts that Dominic has been handling. And as a founding member, proud of our organizations accomplished and certainly look forward to continuing its our tradition of Helping Children". said Thomas Petersen, President of the Knights of York. Domenic thanked both Thomas and Peter for graciously accepting their new roles and stated “I look forward to the success we will attain under their leadership. These two individuals hold the Knights of York in a very special place in the hearts and I know they will work tirelessly in the never ending quest to improve our ability to help children in need.”
